Get involved introduction image
We want you take the opportunity to use the Memorial Walks for recreation, well-being and conviviality much the same as people expect from any ‘walk in the country’. By using the guide leaflet however, we hope you can learn about our soldier who probably used the same path so many years ago, and to appreciate that he died fighting in a war where the risk of failure would have resulted in so many of the rights we take for granted being extinguished. Your right to wander the path is an example, or to own the property over which the path lies. And so much more.
If you want to join in to help, please let us know. The greater the project’s success, the greater satisfaction for all involved. Researching can be extremely rewarding; physical work is required; paths should be monitored; the project’s reputation needs to be enhanced and widened; educational programmes can be designed, directed and rolled out; IT and graphic design skills can be applied. Ideas are welcome, but their implementation requires resources and effective management.
